We have created a new experimental IPA with a Norwegian yeast. This yeast is commonly referred to as "gong". It is extremely unique in that we can ferment at 98 degrees & still get a nice clean beer, albeit loaded with pineapple & mango aromas. We decided what better way to compliment this than to add over 3 lbs per barrel of Citra dry hops. This is bright, tropical, & pillow soft.

Tap. Opaque yellow color with white head. Aroma is nice dankness, good citric and tropical fruits, very expressive. Taste is the same, very dank, very fruity, smooth, nothing too much here, good balance. Warming-ish finish, mild hopburn for refreshingness. Silky mouthfeel, fine-bubbled carbonation. Very good!

Super hazy golden, orange and peach coloured body with a raw honey glow and a nice thickish three to four centimetre tall tan head that stays afloat nicely. Aroma of fresh cut grass, oranges, tangerines, melons, a dash of pepper and interestingly enough, some ground mustard seed - odd! Medium-bodied; Crisp and dry malty notes hit first, with a relatively strong hop bite that's right behind and shows grass, flowers, herbal and peppery notes with a lot of alpha acids and bitterness, with some citrus fruits and a very mild sweetness, but the dry grain cuts through and shows a drying and hoppy note much stronger than anything else - especially at the end. Aftertaste is dry, hoppy, herbal, grassy and a little citrusey, with a smooth candy-like sweetness with citrus at the end. Overall, a fairly nice and relatively complex (for the style and for the alcohol content) IPA with a lot of traditional bitterness from hops, but a nice unfiltered glow, making this a good amalgamation of new and old school IPA styles. Nice to try super-fresh! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, produced/canned on 14-September-2020, purchased at the Department of Beer and Wine in Alexandria, Virginia on 25-September-2020 for US$4,49 sampled at my house here in Washington on 17-October-2020.
