330 ml bottle. Pours a near black with short dark tan head. Aromas of bourbon, chocolate nougat, vanilla, and slick roasted malts. Flavors follow same with a bit more emphasis on bourbon, plus bitter dark chocolate and a bit of oak. Great stuff.

Bottle from Stacks. Hazy black, small, foamy, beige head. Aroma of band-aid, varnish, bourbon, green apple, chocolate sauce, black olive, espresso. Taste has sweet fig, prune & green apple in a dark-chocolatey, dark fudge- & molasses-like malt body surrounded by umami black olive notes and some spicy liquorice. Peppery hops in the finish, lingering softly bitter fondant and warming bourbon alcohol. Medium to full body, oily-sticky texture, soft carbonation. Perhaps a tad too young and medicinal, but very expressive and tasty.

Black and oily with thin head. Great balance of roasted bitter malts combined with the sweet vanilla element from the Bourbon barrel. Rich, silky, boozy.

A black beer, a head is almost medium and brown. Aroma has caramel roastiness, dried fruits, liquorice, light vanilla. Taste has liquorice, some roastiness, light vanilla and barrel. Almost full bodied, smooth. Barreling is not too strong, just perfect. Very nice and balanced.
