Sweden’s history with Elderflower is almost mythical. In ancient times it was believed that Elderflower held magical properties. The whole plant was used for various purposes as during weddings for good luck, for protection and to ward off evil spirits. None of that is proven, but what is true is that it is a favourite flower of ours and that it matches the Citra hops like a charm in this West Coast IPA. We have wanted to do this beer for ages, and finally it has come true.

Can@SBWF2022. Slightly hazy golden colour with a small off-white head. Aroma is citrus, elderflower, some biscuit malts and a bit resin as well. Flavour is floral, fruity, elderflower with some toffee and mild biscuity tones.

44cl can, partagée avec Kevin au Thronefest Kuurne.
BB 02/06/2023, lot# B296.
Couleur pâle, col épais blanc bien tenace.
Arôme - dès ouverture, le bouquet de fleurs de sureau se ressent et donne une fraicheur plaisante et champêtre. Le malté perce en rétro-nasal, le sureau est frais sans être surfait.
Palais sur une base houblonnée classique - ici avec un houblon Citra qui confère qcq pointes d'agrumes. le palais reste assez sec et marqué avec une fine douceur florale en fin de bouche et une pointe d'agrumes.

(Can, Stockholm Beer & Whisky Festival, 1 Oct 2022) Golden colour with brief, white head. Fruity, floral nose with notes of citrus, elderflower, biscuits and resin. Fruity, floral taste with elderflower, citrus, resin, hints of soap and a balanced citric/floral bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a slight sweetness. Fresh and tasty with a rich elderflower character adding to the hops. Very nice.

Sampled at SBWF 2022. Poured hazy and golden in color. Citric aroma, slightly passionfruity, light bodied. OK, could not really find much elderflower here though.

--Canned, from Systembolaget. -- Hazy golden, mid sized head. Rich aroma of elderflowers, grapes and citrus, Mid dry with medium bosy and rounded mouthfeel. Grapes and elderflowers, grass and white bread. Mid bitter finish.
