10 April 2022. At 14de Brugs Bierfestival. Cheers to Anke & Pieter!

Presumably the 2015 version again. Impressions of dried orange peel, candied plum, raisin, fig, triple sec, vanilla. Taste has sweet raisin, fig & plum; caramelly malt base supporting herbal & bittersweet orange peel notes. Herbal hoppy finish, woody, dried fruits, warming triple sec alcohol. Medium to full body, oily-syrupy texture, soft carbonation. Enjoyable still so no need to alter the score.

Original rating: 8/4/8/4/16=4.0. 4 February 2018. At 11de Brugs Bierfestival. Cheers to Anke & Pieter!

Hazy brown with a frothy, beige head. Aroma of green apple, pear, orange liqueur, malt, sugar and vanilla. Tastes medium fruity sweet and light to medium hoppy/woody bitter; woody, nice, alcoholic finish. Full body, slick texture, soft carbonation. Strong, but never exaggerated. Good stuff.

From a 375 ml bottle. Pours a murky dark brown with an ecru head. Aromas are caramel, toffee, and fruit cake. Flavor is pretty sweet, dominated by caramel malts, with a hint of oak barrel. Pretty tasty.

Tap. Hazy brown. Stable ivory-coloured head. Aroma: lots of pleasant esters, nuts, rich malts, fruit, just a hint of tannins. Medium to full body. Light to medium sweetness. Malty, nutty. Vinous, fruity. Light bitterness. Perfect balance. Delicious.

0.375l bottle thanks to Lore. Hazy dark brown body with no head. Aroma of toast, orange zest, dark sugar, brandy, wood, cloves, caramel and wood. Taste of orange zest, dark sugar, apples, caramel, wood, maple syrup and booze. Light medium bodied and flat. Not an everyday beer for sure, but it's still great.

(Draught at Kulminator, Antwerpen, 18 May 2017) Dark ruby colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of caramel, red fruit, oak wood and hints of Grand Marnier. Malty, slightly fruity taste with caramel, red fruit, oak wood, citrus and a certain alcohol bite in a sweetish, slightly vinous finish. Full body, quite sweet. Tasty, with a mellow and velvety mouthfeel and a powerful and rich taste. Very nice.
