Ed Young's recipe was originally winner of an IBD homebrew competition. Not only did he win the chance to brew it with us, he came to work for us for a number of years. Ed has now moved on but he beefed up the original recipe with an increased dry hop before he left.

Old rating - A 330ml bottle my wife got me in Scotland. Pours amber with a white foamy head. Aromas & tastes of flora, hops, orange, citrus butterscotch & malt. Medium body & carbonation. Medium bitter finish. Enjoyable

Bottiglia. All'olfatto si esprimono sentori di cuoio e di creme caramel. La finezza olfattiva è normale e il modo in cui permane è sufficiente. Il manto birroso superiore resiste poco. La grandezza delle bollicine è a grana medio-fine. La parte liquida è limpida e anche qui la grandezza delle bollicine è medio-fine. Il colore è giallo dorato carico. Il corpo è rotondo. L'amaro è pronunciato. La forza gustativa è normale e si prolunga in modo sufficiente. Le sensazioni boccali finali risultano di facile beva. Sul tetto della bocca si fermano note di miele, frutta secca, cannella, erbe aromatiche, mora e frutta.

330ml bottle bought as part of a delivery from the brewery and drunk at home. Darker, almost brownish gold, maybe a little hazy, with a tiny loose ring of white head.woody aroma, some caramel and perhaps a little sarsaparilla, gummy resin, citrus peel. Hmmm. Sweet taste, herbal with notes of orange, some butterscotch. A little umami makes it very moreish. Bitterness in the finish. Syrupy body with low carbonation. Doesn’t strike me as any kind of IPA I’ve ever had, but its originality is its USP. Not sure at first but I’m coming nicely around to it.

Bottle @ fontanelle camping. Pours hazy golden with a white head. Aroma of malt, light caramel, sweet fruit, old hops. Flavor is sweet light bitter, malt, caramel, fruity hops, old hops. Medium body, aversge carbonation, light bitter finish. 150722

Rocky white head stayed on a clear amber body. Malt & butterscotch aroma. Medium bodied, sharp on the front with a clean back. Confectionery, stone fruit, sweet citrus & pine tastes. Awful aroma but tastes quite moorish!

Bottle. Golden color. Butter and some hops in the aroma. Oily citric hopbitter but also buttery flavor. Diacetyl all over the place, partly ruining a good IPA. Oily mouthfeel.

Bottle kindly shared by Finn. Firm white head over a warm golden body, spotty lacing. Oily hops on the nose, mid-sweet. Decent taste profile of slightly honeyed sweet citrus, oily hops to it. Mid-sweet fruit hoppy end. Pretty nice. (Tromsø 17.07.2019).

Delt med Rune. Lys gulbrun. Høyt kremaktig skum. Tynn lacing. Jordbæraroma. Smaken tørket frukt & bær. Ekstra tørr avslutning.
