Bottle picked up from? and consumed at home Monday 31st October, on my final work day at Helmholtz. We are listening to Steve Lamaqs Evening Session on 6Music and cooking Spaghetti Bolognese. Pours chestnut brown an off white head. Caramel and soft moutheel, a little nutty but really super drinkable. Malty, with a pleasant sweetness, thinking plenty of molasses. Good.

Bottle, 7.7%. Good brown sugar aroma with dried fruit notes. Clear dark brown colour. Good stable light brown head. The flavour starts off nicely sweet. Actually more than a little sweet - lots of brown sugar and dark maltose. Not a lot of bitterness to balance, and the 7.7% is does not even do much to balance the sweetness either. Good creamy flavour in the finish, almost like lactose, but better. Liquid candy, but I love liquid candy.

Bottle from MichaelAwesome - thank you! Pours clear copper brown with airy off-white head. Clear aroma of malt and caramel, with notes of yeast. Sweetish flavour of malt and caramel, with bitter notes of alcohol and touches of nuts and hints of fruit. Sweetish aftertaste. Quite sweet and alco-bitter but rather decent.

500ml bottle. Clear chestnut colour with ruby glimmer and average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, dark sulphureous head. Sweet-ish malty aroma, hints of malt lozenge, a touch of caramel and toffee, mildly grassy hoppy overtones. Taste is malty, dark malty, minimally roasty, hints of malt lozenge, a touch of burnt caramel, bitter hoppy overtones; minimally warming alcohol in the finish. Slightly unbalanced: burnt caramel and hop bitterness combine for an overdosed, slightly unpleasant off-flavour.
