Bottle from Havnens Vin & Tobakhus (vintage year brew date: 2018-10-02). Pours muddy dark brown with a tiny white head. Aroma is intense dried yeast, Vegemite, caramel, syrup, nutmeg, cola, port wine, and liquorice root. Taste is medium to very sweet, light bitter, light to medium acidic, and light salty. Body is watery with light carbonation. Finish is long and balanced sweet and acidic with intense notes of caramel, dried yeast, Vegemite, oak barrel, syrup, nutmeg, cola, port wine, and sultana raisins and dried figs. Knowing that the ABV is rather high, it actually feels a bit thin. It is also too sour for a barley wine (if you ask me).

On tap at Bier Paleis Brugge. End of the keg. Hazy brown beer thin beige head. Raisins dry oloroso sherry aroma. Oh wow. That's so much better than I was expecting. I thought it might be tired or oxidised. But it's fresh and tasty. Good biscuit, cake, treacle jam sponge. A great beer. Tasty as hell. Good strawberry jam. Good treacle flavour. Good Raisins and sultanas flavour. Some biscuit/ cake. Lovely. Really impressive. Some wine character comes through.
