Peanut butter & sprinkles! That's that 'Dutch kids eat for breakfast' kinda combo. It was the inspiration for this new Barcode, a fairly sweet BA with a luxurious and decadent feel and nice alcohol punch. The base beer is a combination of Can Brûlée and The Bolt & The Beast and blended on Ruhm and Woodford reserve Bourbon barrels. Combined with French Whisky barrels from the Miclo Distillery. In addition we added kilos of peanuts and a lush amount of cacao nibs for that extra layer of yum.

Can at home. Pours black with no head. Nose is loads of chocolate, peanuts, light booze, bourbon. Taste is sweet, it’s full on peanut upfront and the it’s packed with cacao,and bourbon notes, maybe some rum as sell but it might just be me knowing it’s rum. Big bodied with soft carbo. Pleasant pastry stuff.

Can from Wijnhandel Barrique, Arnhem. Aroma is bourbon upfront with peanut, whiskey, chocolate, caramel, chocolate syrup, nuts. Sweet flavour with a mild bitterness. Full body, bit sticky. Rich and sweet, robust body, plenty of peanut. A little alcohol. Great.

Can split at the L6 tasting, picked up from HOTM online, 22/03/23. Black topped with a khaki swirl. Nose is chocolate, spice, toffee fudge, booze tunes, molasses, mellow barrel. Taste comprises coffee grinds, chocolate, spice, brown sugar melt, dark malts, nutty twang, whisky barrel. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a punch of alcohol. Decent if running a little overly sweet for me.

Can at tasting. Opaque black color, virtually no head. Aroma of almonds, malts, some kind of nutty bean. Can't find out at the moment. Flavor is malts, roasted malts, very pleasant dark malts and coffee and lovely bitter. Lingering malt bitterness. I like the flavor but the aroma, hmm, not so much.

Flesje gedeeld door Keukenman , en gedronken met Benzai, Tomhendriksen en Roelzie. Zwart bier met weinig tot geen schuim. Aroma van hout en mout. De smaak is zoet en stroperig Nasmaak van karamel en drop.

Blik gedeeld door Keukeman, geprobeerd met Inoven, Benzai en Roelzie. Het is een diep donkerbruin bier met een dun beige schuim. Het heeft een aroma gebrande mout en pindas. De smaak is vol, zoet, chocolade en pinda achtig.

12/7/2023. Can shared by Colin, cheers. Pours black with a small beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate, toffee, vanilla, peanut, whiskey, wood. Medium sweetness and moderate roasted bitterness. Full bodied, silky smooth, very soft carbonation. Very good.
