This was one of the flag-ship beers we had in mind when we first delved into our cellar. The story of the Cuvée Vandekelder has its origin in 2016 with a passionate quest for balance, authenticity, flavor. After more than two years of polishing and fine-tuning, the Cuvée finally saw the light of day: a golden-colored beer with a full aroma and a nice head.
The taste is slightly sour with spicy, funky cellar-like aromas and a distinctive dry finish, which by now has become somewhat of our trademark. It is a distinctly Belgian beer of high fermentation with refermentation in the bottle. This authentic rustic ale delivers a bitter, but gentle finish. We feel it is a humble brew, yet deeply complex.
Our Cuvée has a gravity of 14° Plato and an alcohol content of 7.3°.

Bottle from Dranken Vandewoude and drunk with Nelson. Its a little earthy. Some syrupy alcohol. Some citrus flavour. Mostly it's boozy I'm not saying it's off but it's slightly woody and not pleasant. Threw half a glass away. .

10/VIII/24 - 33cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker), shared @ Mattie’s place, midsummer mussels dinner with the inlaws, BB: 7/XI/24, 2210/P1285 (2024-726)
Clear deep orange to amber beer, big creamy off-white head, falls down quickly, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: pretty fruity start, apples and pears, a bit yeasty, floral, sweet impression. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: a little sweet up front, herbal, pretty bitter, some alcohol, ripe banana, a bit grassy. Aftertaste: pretty dry, grassy, a bit floral, more yeast, soapy bitterness, esters, some chemical solvents, meh, not very good.
