To condition a stout on these beans is a high wire act where the malts and the oak must be in perfect balance. Leaning the malt bill to the sweeter, lighter roast side and restricting the time in oak to six months to impart a hint of vanilla keeps the divine light shining directly onto the coffee.

330mL bottle, pours black with a small beige head. Nose is loaded with coffee and bourbon barrels upfront, followed by moderate roasted malt. Flavour is rich, with intense bourbon barrels and espresso beans upfront, backed by medium roasted malt, and some molasses. Really great bourbon character, which melds with the punchy coffee well. Excellent.

330 ml can. Pours a very dark brown with full dark tan head. Aromas of earthy coffee, woody bourbon, soy sauce, vanilla, and slick roasted malts. Flavors of chocolate nougat, rich coffee, coconut, oaky bourbon, and oily roasted malts. Nice warmth in the finish.

Can from The Gull, North Vancouver
Dark brown colour, near black. Arom aof spices, dark chocolate, petroleum, green peppers, coffee. It's full bodied, moderately sweet, luscious chocolate, peppery, spicy, with nice alcohol warmth, just a bit earthy too.
Very good.

330ml on Alex's porch. Appearance: very dark brown with a beige head. Aroma: tons of coffee with green peppers. Taste: along the same lines with lots of coffee and pleasant sweetness, some bourbon too. Overall: for the coffee lovers in imperial stouts it should be good, I believe. For me it's ok.

Can picked up from Beer Republic webshop, Breda, Netherlands, *I think, and consumed Thursday 26th August 2021 still sat outside looking at the unbelievable views *even though it's now dark, from our Delphi Camping, Campsite, Greece. Pours black with a tan head. Soft mouthfeel, creamy, smooth, chocolate. Like the 02 Jerez this is boozy but in a nice, comforting, enveloping, warming way, chocolate with notes of espresso, bourbon, barrel, lots of roasted malts, vanilla, burnt wood, caramel, this is lovely, however slightly prefer the Jerez 02 version.
