330ml can from Dunell's in Jersey. Pours black with a small beige head. Aromas & tastes of chocolate, smoked meat, liquorice & roasted malt. Medium body. Long smoked medium bitter finish. Excellent

Bottle from Hopt. Aroma is dark malt, fruity hops, pine resin, coffee, citrus, roast, touch of grapefruit and dark chocolate. Flavour is moderate sweet and medium bitter. Body is medium. Nicely roasty and hoppy, good Black IPA!

Bière pression bue au Bellerose. Robe noire. Forte en café, très torréfiée, vraiment top.

Si la base de cette débauche est totalement maîtrisée, pleine et intense comme le sait faire la Débauche, le meskal (vieillissement avec copeaux de chêne au meskal) n'est pas maîtrisé et prend trop nettement l'ascendant sur les autres arômes en étant quelque peu agressif (pour un alcool se limitant pourtant à 8 %). Finalement, j'aurais préféré la même bière sans meskal. Le visuel est sur un noir profond avec une mousse brune crémeuse. Joli nez sur les fruits exotiques, les agrumes, le chocolat, le chêne et le meskal (que je ne connaissais pas et qui in fine se rapproche de la tequila). L'attaque est sur un équilibre relativement bon entre base et meskal. En plus des arômes présents au nez, des herbes se font relativement présentent faisant passer à un houblonnage à cru ainsi que du caramel. Avec la base assez dense et l'alcool ressortant, l'amertume a quelques difficultés à s'exprimer (pour 70 d'IBU). La deuxième bouche est quant à elle trop déséquilibrée sur le meskal, pour devenir agressif. La présence en bouche est par contre remarquable. L’arrière-bouche présente un contraste intéressant, davantage sur l'amertume, le chêne et le chocolat. Le final, d'une excellente longueur est également trop sur l'alcool. Ay Caramba !

Bottle. Dark brown color, light brown foam. Aroma: strong alcohol (mescal?), caramel, a little dried fruit, barrel, wood, sweetish. Taste: caramel, mescal, slightly burnt, slightly spicy, light dried fruit, light bitterness, warming, original.

Bottle shared. Slightly hazy dark brown. Aromas of roast, pine, floral notes, light citrus. Tastes of citrus, roast, floral notes, pine. Light body with a dry finish.

Roast and some caramel. Good balance. Bitter and off sweet finish. Black pour with decent head and lacing. French with some flavor like the West African district.. la Goute d’or. Bottle.

From a bottle shared at the DC RB gathering Memorial Day weekend 2017 it is a dark Amber color with a tan head. The aroma is boozey and the taste is strong boozey Very tasty black IPA>

33cl bottle. BBE 08/17. Poured pretty much black in color with a thick espresso head. Orange and grapfruit in aroma, really fresh. Lovely.¨ Pretty much continues in the flavor, but also lots of coffee and strong roasted malty notes. Strong flavors in this beer. Quite balanced, really good Cascadian Dark Ale. More please! Nice bitterness.
