Our first Barrel Aged Imperial Stout. A beer that has slept in waiting for almost a year.
We started with a complex grist of the choicest malts bringing a plethora of rich and enticing flavours. Then aged the finished beer in Buffalo Trace, Jim Beam, Heaven Hill, Appleton Rum + Speyside Scotch barrels, before blending.
It starts with upfront flavours of brandy soaked raisin, moving to a gentle warming note of cinnamon. Slightly tropical coconut notes come forward quickly dissipating into a bitter dark chocolate note. As it warms, it sweetens bringing out a touch of slightly tart red berry, morello cherry with a lasting + continuously building whisky character finishes the beer with long notes of allspice, clove, orange zest + sherry.

Drukket på Lillehøgda. Svart. Lysebrunt luftig skum som forsvinner raskt. Aroma av kakao & eik. Myk munnfølelse. Smaken bourbon, sjokolade & røstet malt. Tørr. Alkoholen godt kamuflert.

330ml can. Pitch black pour with a small tan head. Aroma of barrels, bourbon, rum, chocolate. Taste is very rich, all the barrels, woody, oak, bourbon and rum, roasty, caramel, chocolate, dark fruits, liquorice, an almost meaty smokey flavour. Full bodied, smooth, boozy.

Keg @ IMBC 2022. Pours dark, thin tan head. Aroma brings deep malt and dark fruits. Continues to taste, smooth with a solid meaty offering, plenty to get tuck into here.

330ml can bought at Vinmonopolet Langnes. Tan- coloured bubbles on the surface of a plain black body, faint lacing. Inviting caramel-chocolate nose, lightly roasted. Fine blended flavours, impacts of earthy malts, caramel-chocolate, and a backdrop of dried fruits, integrated spices to it. Lingering, smooth ending with a whisky input. Well bodied. Nice slow sipper on dark autumn evening. (Tromsø 24.09.2022).

1/3 pint from tap Dead Crafty Beer, Liverpool. Black color, small coffee colored head. Smells earthy, toffee, smokey, nutty, cocoa. Very nice smell. Full body, light carbonation. Tastes earthy, nutty, toffee, soy sauce, spices, vanilla. Finishes lightly sweet with notes of soy sauce, nutty and spices. very nice one. Bit soy saucey (which i usually dont like). But it works very well here. Nice stuff.
