A Triple Dry Hopped Imperial IPA 26 years in the making
25 years ago we celebrated the 1st Anniversary of our fledgling brewery with a beer that was far away from the craft beer norms at the time. It was far too intense. It was far too hoppy and bitter. Yet it became the shot heard ‘round the world, and beer history was changed forever. We’re talking of course about our flagship Stone IPA. So, to celebrate the beer that (eventually) launched generations of hop fanatics, we present this imperial version of the beer that made our name among the (budding) craft beer legions. Loaded with gloriously bitter notes of piney, citrusy, resinous dankness, it’s everything we love about our classic West Coast style IPA…properly turned up to 11 25 for the occasion.

On tap at Man in the Moon. Dark golden with a small white head. Pine, caramel, some grapefruit and mild marmelade. Bitter finish with warming notes.

Karamellig hopfiger Geruch. Trocken herber Mittelteil mit deutlichem Hopfenaroma, schnell auch bitter werdend. Geringe Süße, etwas brotig, leicht nach Zitrus. Würzig hopfig-bitterer Abgang. Lecker! 9/11/11/10/8/11

Can.Clear golden colour with small white head.Aroma is dry citrus hops kind a like taste tangerine flavour to crispy fresh but maybe I just have hoped for more of this beer.

Draught @ Man in the Moon Aroma has strong and sweet fruitiness, also gluey tones and marmalade. Flavour has resin, tropical fruits, grapefruit, orange marmalade. Lingering bitterness with herbs and grapefruit. Gluey and menthol tones occur after some sips. Quite typical strong IPA from Stone.

Can at the Bottle and Board, Peterborough. Light hazed deep golden colour with a white head. Aroma and taste are pine and malty smooth and citrus. Dry to slight bitter full body.

opalescent dark golden colour, huge, dense ecru head, which lasts for several minutes; aroma of pine resiny, grapefruity, orange zesty and biscuity notes; taste of devastating hoppy bitterness with the same notes as can be felt in the aroma; amazing 'classical' American-style IIPA

Can. Clear dark orange with a beautiful big white head. Aroma of resin, pine, grapefruits and mangos. Taste of resin, pine, malts, caramel, lemons, oranges, grapefruits and a whiff of watermelons. Strong medical bitterness. Medium carbonation. Alcohol is well integrated. Balanced. A typical Stone Double IPA that ticks all the right boxes but I think it’s missing that certain something. Ok.

Can picked up from Craft Bier Webshop, Parchim, Germany and consumed at home Friday 20th January 2023 listening to Steve Lamaq on 6 Music, and we're cooking a Prawn Masala Curry with Basmati and Wild Rice and a Potato Tikki for tea tonight. Pours warm gold/orange with a white head. This has that heavy maltiness that many big American IPAs have. Thick in the mouth, but a big hoppiness thatbuilds and builds leading to some impressive hoppy burps. This Initially had a little dusty hop when I tried Loz's but I never found this again when I opened this can.
