Amber colour with a tan head. Rich sweet aroma with caramel and a intense fruitiness that remindes me of prunes. Rich caramel malt flavour. Very sweet, but not overkill sweet. Lots of fruity tones. Cherries and prunes. Rich complex flavour. Nice christmas beer. A really suprise.

Brown 33cl bottle, best before 14th Oct 2010, drank 19th Feb 2010. Poured into a ’Corsendonk’ stemmed tulip glass. The bottle label claimed 7%ABV. A large off-white foaming head sat on top of an almost ruby red body, the colour was a bit lighter than a ruby red, but not by much. Chocolate aroma, dark chocolate with raisins whipped into it. Strange taste, the chocolate from the smell is still there, but it is joined by marzipan type flavours and weak cheeries, weird stuff. Coffee and toffee in there too. Sweet yet with a sour/dry finish. The body isn’t heavy, nor is it thin, lets go for medium bodied? Don’t know what style it is, but it is interesting and just about the best beer I’ve had out of Luxembourg, from around 15 reviewed.

Warning! Early amateur rating! Bottle in Luxembourg. A dark amber beer. The malts are light though. Sweetish malt undertone. Very pleasant aftertaste. Another good beer from Simon.

Bottle. [Thanks to Shig]. Unclear medium brown with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, beige head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy malty, roasted, pea. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. To malty to my flavour. (161207)

Bottled (BB 10/2008)
Nut brown color, small off-white head. Brown sugary aroma, slightly malty. Dry malty flavor, burnt notes, dry harsh aftertaste with some alcohol in it. Unbalanced, a bit similar to some stronger Finnish Christmas Viennas.

33 cL bottle, Kerstbierfestival 2007 in Essen/Belgium. Pours golden/copper with a little lacing head. Malty and somewhat hoppy in a dry fashion. Flavour is slight spiced and with a dry hops note, lends towards a note of tobacco. Finish is dry and with a malty tone, not bitter nor caramel malty. Mediocre.

(bottle, received by trade from Saarlander - thanks !) Clear, ruby amber colour with a medium-sized, slightly tanned foamy head. Sweet toast-malty aroma with strong notes of caramel and liquorice. Sweet flavour, medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Toast-malty, nutty and slightly grainy taste with caramel and faint fruity notes of dried fruits; sweet, slightly sugary finish with a whiff of bitterness.
