This big 9.9% Imperial IPA is super juicy and bursting with tropical flavors. Just the thing to accommodate a swing in the hammock.

Best before April something 2022. The day has 2 blue dots covering the day.
It pours a pretty clear gold with a rather massive head of foam with great lacing.
Smells hoppy and bitter, grapefruit and tropical fruit, onions and melon. Rather typical aromas for the style.
Hoppy, yes, dry hopped, I wouldn't doubt it. Tropical fruit, pine, bit of onion but less than I expected from the smell. Dank, the smell and tastes are so familiar so there's nothing that makes this stand out.
Really good mouthfeel.
A single can purchase and it will stay that way. +$4 for the can.

Moderately hazy bright orange body, thick puffy cream head. Nose sticky-sweet fermented fruit and pine. Body mostly citrus-pine with tangy caramely malts and some warming booze. Odd beer that, though fresh, tastes like an aged West Coast IIPA with reduced bitterness, or even a barleywine, the muddled elements probably (?) not the target of this poor effort.

I've wrote many times of my imperial stout fatigue, and now I think I'm going to start writing about hop fatigue. Hoppy beers are every where these days, and I'm starting to miss ordinary porters or malt leaning beers. That has little to do with whether this is a good or bad beer, but just some context. But this is a strong ass 9.9% in a full imperial pint serving. This will get me! So it pours a amber color. Big tropical hop nose, pineapple and mango, a little sweat sock, orange zest. Flavor has a big full malt sweetness, as you'd probably expect from a beer this big. A bit sugary. Hop flavorings are there, zesty with a little lime zest, some vague tropical fruit flavors. Finish isn't overly bitter, the hops are balanced by that big malt body. Somewhat drinkable for its scale (but ask me again when I'm done with the pint). Lingering bitterness and sweet alcohol. Yea honestly its a bit much. So within the realm of IIPAs, I'd say its 85th percentile at least, but given my new preference for drinkable lighter beers, I feel this is more 60th percentile at best. .5 l can from Jewel. Encouraging piney hop smell under the pop top. Pours slightly hazy gold under a pillow of yellowish white foam.Nice tropical hop flavor, against a somewhat strong malt and alcohol background. More bright that the expected dank hops. A bit cheery and drinkable, before more hop bitterness asserts itself.

A kind of clear gold with a large white head. Aroma is a nice stone fruit with some white sugar. Flavor is pretty much the same. A peach with some sugar. It's a sweet one! No alcohol is found. Decent but way too much residual sugar left over.

RE-RATE - July 2024 12 oz can from a mix pack. 14SEP24 stamped on the bottom of the can. The pour is a clear golden with a couple of fine carbonation bubbles that build up to a quickly diminishing 1/2 inch white head. The aroma is artificial toffee sugar, sweet malt and alcohol. The taste is medicinal, plastic, fake toffee and a big blast of alcohol at the back. The palate is medium bodied, soft carbonation, jagged hot alcohol and a burning sweet finish. Had to dump this one. 5,3,3,2,7 - 2.0 - SCORE UPDATED. 19.2 oz. King Can purchased at Harry’s Liquor in Leawood, Kansas. The pour is a mostly clear golden with a one inch foamy slightly off white head that falls with minimal lace. The aroma is sweet citrus hops, tangerine and orange, with a bit of body odor and noticeable sweet alcohol. The taste is orange fruit, softly bitter citrus peel, some pineapple and then cereal malt and bright sweet alcohol heat. The palate is medium bodied, with active carbonation and the citrus and sweet boozy finish.

Extremely sweet, even for a 9%+ DIPA. Lots of peach, pineapple, mandarin, and melon, with an underlying syrupy vein and modest mineral-pine bitterness. Gentle texture for such a hearty beer, but too sweet.
