We sent our “Ours” to hibernate for several months in bourbon barrels. Time to refine and take on beautiful vanilla and chocolate notes. Then we added a touch of real cocoa and vanilla to lift aromatics up. A real treat!

23/X/22 - 33cl can from La Source webshop, shared @ home, BB: 30/VIII/23 (2022-1416)

Clear dark brown to black beer, creamy dense and a bit irregular beige brown head, stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: very malty, a bit oxidized, quite some (old) soy sauce, alcohol, good roast, more alcohol. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: lots of dark caramel, sweet touch, some dark chocolate, coffee and mocha, hint of soy sauce, cocoa powder, pretty bitter, dry. Aftertaste: good roast, bitter, coffee, some alcohol, dried fruit, a bit oxidized, malty in the finish. Decent, not great.

Sampled @ Brassigaume 2022. A black beer with a small tan head. Aroma of intense bourbon, strong dark malt, coffee. Taste of strong dark caramelized malt, intense caramel, toffee, vanilla and bourbon. Nice.

Can picked up directly from the brewery, in Brussels and consumed, Tuesday 11th October 2022 listening to Steve Lamaqs Evening Session on 6Music, in Frank at a town centre campsite by the Donau/Danube, Deggendorf warming up our Cottage Pie. Pours black with an oily texture, thickness in the mouth, chocolate, warming, light booziness, really good.

Draft @ LaSource.
