(Draught at Mother Kelly's Vauxhall, London, 29 May 2022) Black colour with brief, beige head. Roasted, sourish nose with notes of liquorice, balsamic vinegar and tar. Malty, roasted, tart taste with liquorice, oak wood, tar, red wine tannins, coffee and a fairly low roasty bitterness. Almost full body, quite dry. Quite interesting, reminds me of the Rullquin. Lots of taste: roasty, woody and tart. Very nice.

Draught. Pub classifies this as a Foeder aged Stout. Head gone, jet-black beer with vanilla, booze, roast, chocolate, black liqueur, wooden barrels. Sour, both from the wood as from the stout malts; vanilla, if restrained, chocolate, cacao, some good quality booze (difficult to say what), hints from the toasted wood. Full bodied, alcoholwarming, alcoholthinning. Surprising - it has indeed a lot of wild ale features, no discussion. Love it.

Unlabelled bottle courtesy of the brewers. Cheers! Clear dark brown. Thin, lasting beige foam. Nicely leggy. Nose has tart vine fruit. Charred oak. Belgian yeast. Hint of fruity coffee bean. Dark chocolate. Taste is tart and sour. Fairly dry. Plenty of body here. Moderate acidity. Fine carbonation. Tart finish.
