0.75 l bottle from 'Etre Gourmet', best before August 2024. Almost clear, red with a thin, frothy, almost stable, off-white head. Sweetish-malty, gently smoky and slightly fruity aroma of caramel, red fruits, toasted nuts and light smoked ham. Quite sweet, malty, slightly bitter, gently smoky and moderately fruity taste of caramel, molasses, red fruits, toasted nuts, some grains and a touch of smoked ham, followed by a medium long, gently bitter, slightly dry finish. Medium to full body, gently effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Tasty Doppelbock with a smoky and fruity edge. Not an easy drinker, nothing for the masses, but a nice composition for the geek.

75 cl. Bottle @ Ratebeer Odense Christmas Get Together, 2022. Pours Hazy reddish with a small head. Phenolic smokey. Dusty and dry. Warming prickly alcohol. Harsh bitter finish. Arhhh.

Juleafslutning i Ratebeer, Odense. December 2022 hos Mads. Amber with a lasting white head. Aroma of earthy beet with a smoked note. Sweetish malty flavour with smoke and beetroot. A really strange mess.

Bottle. Clear light brown. Lots of meaty smoke, sweet malts, ashy, dry wood, caramel, mineral. Medium sweet and bitter. Medium bodied. Massive smoke, not too much else. It’s to the style, but not my thing.
