This is a bigger version of our straight Porter recipe with the addition of a punchy Chinook, Centennial and Columbus dry hop. Delicious and complex flavours of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, with a dry hoppy finish.

Keg halfpint at The Dog & Bell, Deptford. ABV is 5.9%. Black colour, tan head. Roasty aroma and flavour, notes of coffee and liquorice, distinct bittering hops. A very good and well balanced porter.

From tap at Dog & Bell, Deptford, London, 08.09.22. Ebony. Dense and persistent pale brown head and lacing. Fine aroma and taste of pine, juniper, roasted malt, tobaccoo and grapefruit. Good!

Keg at the Dog & Bell, Deptford. Dark brown with light notes of translucency. A film of tan head with some lacing. Light earthy, almost muddy aroma, some yeast extract and a hint of molasses. Bittersweet taste with a menthol character… maybe some tobacco… Dunhills menthols spring to mind. Some gravy and bitter chocolate round off the bitter finish. Kinda weird and messy as hell but honestly I do like it well enough.
