Review based on the BJCP2021 guidelines (style 21B - session IPA 6% abv). Can 33 cl - Batch L25017 (BB: 04/27). APPEARANCE: pale amber color with very small particles in suspension. medium ivory head with ok retention. TASTE: initial medium malt notes (caramelized, old) with low oxidized hop notes (dried grass) and cereal husk. medium-high bitterness with a dry and overly bitter finish. unbalanced. MOUTHFEEL: medium-low body with medium carbonation. slight astringency. OVERALL: a session IPA with the same amount of alcohol of a regular IPA and already past its freshness.

Can 33 cl. Pours amber with a slight haze and a gigantic, frothy and lacing off-white head with good retention. Lovely fruity nose, fruity rather than hoppy. Light body, soft mouthfeel, dry fruitiness and hardly any bitterness. Nothing insulting here, Very easygoing but lacking hops. 150225

Pink can from Beer52 showing a pig with shades. And why not I guess, the craft beer scene can take itself too seriously sometimes. Clear bright gold with small white top, poor retention. Aroma of pine, malts, light flora. Taste is the same but somewhat subdued. Quite a thin bittersweet piney and tangy citric affair. I've not had the 6% version but I suspect its a lot better than this. They would have been better off creating an all new SIPA rather than watering down something that works at a higher ABV.
