The Primal Rye is een onderdeel van een serie bieren waarin zuivere biologische graanrassen centraal staan. Sint Jans rogge is een eeuwenoud graan dat tegenwoordig nog weinig wordt gebruikt. Het heeft een prachtig smaakpalet met een volle, fruitige smaak, en dat proef je!

On tap @ Proeflokaal Arendsnest. Deep amber body under a nice, lacing tan head. Aroma has malt, toffee and toast. Taste is sweet, a bit sharp, burnt caramel, toast and decent bitterness.

On tap at Proeflokaal Arendsnest. Smooth, sweetish yet dry. Full body. Dark dried fruit, toffee, light toast, some chocolate and a good bitterness. Nice, after a couple of sips. 747414

(Draught at Craft & Draft, Amsterdam, 17 Feb 2023) Dark reddish brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, slightly roasted nose with notes of caramel, dark bread, toast and dried fruit. Malty, spicy taste with caramel, toast, dried fruit, rye bread and a balanced spicy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and well balanced. Nice one.

Pours a clear brown colour and a rocky beige head with good retention. Aroma's: roasted, red fruit, sweetish. Retronasal follows this, a bit less roasted, a bit caramel. Flavour is moderate sweet, moderate roasty bitter. Medium bodied. Moderate bitter finish. Solid bock.
