A blend of 1 & 2 year old golden ales brewed with malted barley and raw wheat. Spontaneously fermented and aged in neutral French oak barrels. The beer refermented on Triomphe d'Alsace grape pomace (Offbeat Wine, Wiltshire) and Ben Alder blackcurrants (Gorgate Farm, Norfolk) before packaging.

Bottle shared in Brussels - picked up from the winter market. Pours muted red with a fading, foamy pink head. Light sweet flavour, a bit of vinyl, plastic, chlorine, subtle berry tartness. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Fairly dry finish, more tangy berries, faint plastic. So so overall.

Shared bottle @ Patricks, Clear red body under a small white head. Aroma is slightly acidic with cherry, some kind of generic red berries and a funky touch. Taste is sweet and sour with cherry, cherry stone, slightly harsh bitterness and some funky. Balanced body with a tart, fruity finish. Quite unusually taste, almost weird in an interesting way. Nice but also a bit one-dimensional.

Bottle, 75cl corked, at Patricks. An almost clear deep red beer with a small head. Cherry, red fruit and some funk in the aroma. It's tart and nicely carbonated, medium to full bodied, with mostly fruity flavor. Long funky finish with lots of berries. Delicious but a bit straight forward. 230929

Light brown colour with a reddish hue. Aroma of tangy red fruit, wood and funky yeast. Flavour is intense with forest fruit vibes but the tangy and slightly bitter blackcurrants really shine through in the finish. Intense fruit, well balanced acidity, dry complexity from the barrel.

375ml bottle Sophie's Beer Store. Dark reddish appearance, small off-white head. Lovely blackcurrant character with a curious grape influence. Distant prickly woody close, moderate tart sourness. Nice.

Flavour is composed of dry and tart fruits, vinous funk, red grape, mineral, stone. Bitter finish. Palate is tart light mineral moderate fine carbonation. Nice.
