As the seasons change, styles of beer change with them, and with that in mind (and heart, honestly), we present a 10.3% ABV Belgian quad that runs deep with strong flavors of plum and fig, toffee, molasses, and chocolate covered cherry.
Much akin to a folk song, one like this beer is named after, don’t let the sweetness deceive you. This one is after your soul.

A dark reddish brown ale with a thin lacing mocha head. In aroma, sweet caramel malt with light grassy dark fruits, licorice, light mineral notes, pleasant. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity caramel malt with candy sugar, light curacao, alcohol warmth, very nice. On tap at brewery.

10 ounce pour at the brewery - labeled as 11.4% - hazy dark amber - faint off-white head - lightly acidic up front, followed by some dark fruit flavors of plum and pear - moderate dusty Belgian yeast character - a little bit of pepper - some brighter fruitiness returns late, finishing with a strange fruit punch or sangria kind of character - I see where Eugene is coming from in his rating - I like it a little better, but it’s not great.

1 October 2022. At Texas Craft Beer Festival. Shared with the lovely Anke!

A: hazy brown, thin, beige head.
A: red apple, plum, raisin, dried banana.
T: sweet apple & banana, brioche, clove.
F: herbal hops, dried fruit, spices & warming brandy-like alcohol.
P: full body, oily texture, average carbonation.
Nice bold sipper, close to Belgian-style (as was the intention apparently).
