Svart med beige skum. Salt lakris, brent kaffe og mørk sjokoladelukt. Smaker mørke bær, espresso og sort bitter sjokolade. Lite kullsyre, god alkodolfylde. Haandfestival 2014

Keg @ Euston Tap. Black with a tight orange-brown head. Sherry aroma dominates, a bit of coffee and charcoal but this one’s all about the barrel ageing really. A fruity sweetness in the initial east, giving way to a bitter/sour finish. Massive coffee hit on the aftertaste. The silky smooth mouthfeel you’d expect from a good impy. This is good. Really good.

Keg at Craft Beer Co Covent Garden, opening night, 09/05/14. Pitch black with a dirty tan swirl atop the glass dissipating in part to edgework. Nose is rich fruit cake, sherry underpin - happy Xmas Mum, sweet tones, dates and dried dark fruit sniffings, chocolate fudge, nutty pang, light booze. Taste comprises big Christmas cake notes, strong sherry leanings which rather dominate the proceedings, candied fruit rinds, dried dark fruits, a little chocolate reassurance. Full bodied, soft smooth feel, massaging on the palate, warming alcohol in the close. Pretty decent impy but not top draw for me, lacks a little balance, the PX just dominates a little too much!

From tap. Pours pitch black with a small brown head. Aroma is liqourice and roasted malty. Thick malty, liqourice and vague salty. Lingering dark malty and liqourice. Thick dark liqourice malty finish.

[5/3/14] Draught sample at Copenhagen Beer Celebration. 4th session. Black with a beautiful creamy brown head. Aroma of sherry, oak, chocolate, alcohol and vinous fruitiness. Sweet flavor with a sourish touch, roasty, with chocolate, sherry, dark fruits and a bitter finish, burnt and a bit alcoholic. Very thick and full-bodied.

Smakprov på CBC 2014. Smak och doft av choklad, kaffe, mörka russin, sherry med söta laktristoner. Syrlig och fruktig med smak av fat. Välbalanserad och rund och len i gommen. Väldigt gott.

Smakprov på CBC 2014. En söt, syrlig och väldigt fruktig IS med fina fattoner. Klassiska IS smaker av choklad, sötlakrits, mjukt kaffe gifter sig väl med sherryn, fat, söta russin och molass. Fruktigt och blommigt med lätta toner av chili och citrus. Riktigt gott.

Keg at at Craft Covent Garden. It pours opaque black with medium tan head. The nose is rich roast, umami, port, sweet, berry, syrupy, jam, cocoa and salted liquorice. The taste is rich, roasty, toast, warming alcohol, salted liquorice, berry skin, earth, cocoa, ash and dirt with a dry, earthy finish. Full body and fine, prickly carbonation. Pretty rich and boozy gear, but smells great. Almost brilliant.
