500ml bottle. Clear ruby red glowing dark amber colour with extremely huge, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Aroma has notes of toasted malt. Taste is grainy, earthy, hints of toasted mald, rye, rye bread, a touch of red and blue berries, juniper berry, moss; prickling, lively carbonation. Has, earthy and malt dominated as it is, nothing to do with an (American) Amber Ale, resembles more a (traditional) Mild Ale; unusual lively to fizzy carbonation.

Bottle from Budgens Islington, drunk at home. Lots of carbonation, had to decant into 3 glasses and then again to get something even vaguely drinkable. Clear russet cola with lasting rocky beige head. Tasty amber ale, normally you’d have PNW hops on this. With English hops, it’s more like a premium bitter. Fine. Would prefer this with the grapefruit PNW hops though. It’s decent. Malts are good.

Hazy dark red - brown beer, tidy pale tan head. Palate is fresh, semi dry and a little crispy. Malt has traces of caramel and smoke. Mild nuts. Fresh minerals. Whisper of citrus hops. Finishes crisp and dry with a carbonated sting. Fresh minerally malty beer.

Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Light bitter toast to finish, further coffee, caramel and mild roasted malts. Pretty decent.
