This is a style of beer that a priori we don't do too much at la Senne, and that's the whole point: a double Belgian-American IPA!
It has a very beautiful amber color. Its nose evokes exotic fruits, mango, grapefruit, and strawberry.
On the palate, its aroma is malty and hoppy at the same time, the latter reminiscent of orange marmalade, apricot, bergamot, and again strawberry. The ensemble is accompanied by a very pleasant floral side, of the island flowers type. Its bitterness is fine and very balanced, and its character round and warming, with a touch of lime on the finish.

Donkergeel bier met mooie stevige schuimkraag. Smaak is bitterzoet met iets van sinaasappel, wat passievrucht en rozijn. Heel goed.

T: medium to full malty base, tangerine, passion fruits, peach, marmalade touch, perfumed, nice hoppy resinous, long lasting harmonic bitterness, biscuits, medium carbonation, very good balanced as I expected, enjoyed for sure.

Bottled 28SEP22, drunk 05MAY23. Glowing orange-bronze, hint of haze despite my best efforts. Off-white head is medium-sized, staunch. Smells cascade-like, but well-done. Belgian yeast, soft, clean, hint of Brett? Or is that just the older hop character? Hard to say but it's mineral-rich, easygoing and still noticeably hoppy yet with no resin. Despite the deep, dark bronze, there's no notes of specialty malt which is excellent. No alcohol noted. Maltier up front than expected. A hint of smoke phenol, some gummy bears, rich caramel, but drying out on a leaner, lightly-toasted finish. Citrus and very gentle pine - definitely old school hop character, but more base malt softness and depth without a gross heavy breadiness or iced tea character that is so disgusting about old school IPAs. The yeast is clean, interesting. I'm sure it's a bit older than ideal, though I like that it's softened up. Does seem like it may have been rather overly bitter/citrusy/piney when fresh.

Bottle at home from Malt Attacks, Brussels, 24th February 23. Pours a clearish golden orange. Aroma is pithy orange and marmalade, fresh. Taste is pithy citrus and rind, bitter marmalade, malt backbone, really well balanced and well made IPA

Bottle picked up from Foeders, online webshop, Haarlem and consumed at home Thursday 23rd February 2023 listening to Steve Lamaq on 6Music, it's Round Table tonight. Loz made Münchner Schnitzel tonight, they were really nice, I helped though we used Chicken as opposed to Pork or Veal. Pours hazy mid orange/amber a cracker of a beer, lovely pithy citrus bitterness but with a lovely malty underbelly. A little dryness at the end, good bite.

Hazy orange colour, white creamy foam. Nose of tropical fruit, citrus, some grassiness, pine. Fruity with a bitter hoppy finish. Good!
