Bottle 33 cl. Comes with a thick, black pour drawing fat curtains inside the glass but leaving next to no head. Chocolatey aroma paired with sweet roast. Rich body, low carbonation, distinct oaky tannins. Molasses and dark, dried fruit, but I get neither apples nor cinnamon, but maybe that's why it's quite pleasant. 241123

330ml bottle at the Beer Bank, Kuala Lumpur City Centre. Poured almost black in colour with a short-lived, frothy tan head. The aroma is roasted malt, molasses, apple, light alcohol. The flavour is over moderate sweet, with a smooth, rich, slightly oily, roasty, apple, Christmas spice, dry, oaky, light vanilla, warm boozy alcohol bitter palate. Over medium bodied with soft carbonation. Served way too cold at 6 degrees and it took 30 minutes of hand holding before the flavours came through but when they did, it was exquisite!

Tap at Beer Hunters. Opaque colour and small beige head. Sweet, vanilla, coffeish aroma. Medium-bodied. Toasted, coffee, vanilla and marshmallows in the flavour. Sweet but with nice roastyness.

Tap at Beerdock. Deep brown color with beige head. Aroma of chocolate, raisins, roasted malt, dried fruits, cinnamon, not to much apples if any. Taste is very similar, roasted malt, tons of chocolate, cinnamon, dried fruits and almost no apples. Bit boozy, Cognac barrels were recognizable in bit disturbing way.

Tap at the brewery taproom. Med-full body, medium carbonation. Lots of chocolate and raisins, dried fruit overall. Apples have a hard time coming through, manages to do so rather in the finish. So does thi cinnamon, which in turn competes with med-light warming alcohol and cognacy booziness. Good, but a bit lost on me.

Bottle from Drankgigant and consumed at home in the company of Craig and Stella Saturday 14th October 2023 listening to The Umlauts - Slags. Pours pitch black, oily texture with a light beige rim of bubbles. A little bit sticky, apple is a little bit overrun by big sweetness and the barrel ageing, less so by spices, dried fruitiness and other components. V.good but could be better.
