The latest Hop Harvest by old time favourite De Ranke, thanks Craftmember for sharing! Egg-white, moussy, dense, cobweb-lacing, stable head on an initially clear, orangey-tinged ‘old golden’ beer, turning into a hazy apricot blonde with sediment. Aroma of mugwort leaf, moist white pepper, bread crust, crackers, freshly cut dandelions, dried grapefruit peel, raw cereals, green pear, unripe peach, sog thistle, dry hay. Crisp, dryish onset, some unripe banana and dito peach fruitiness, fizzy carbonation with strong but refreshing minerally effect; cracker- and bread crusty-malt base, supple though, grainy edges, bittered by a long, rooty, wormwoody hop bitterness, ending quinine- and tonic water-like but still ‘green’ and leafy too, the bitterness beautifully amplified by the minerally undertones. Drying and resinous finish, very quenching. Glad I had this one while still relatively fresh, even though I must admit that these Ranke beers are so solid that even older vintages of Hop Harvest remain tasty (though in a less ‘green’, spring-fresh-like manner, if you get my drift). Oldskool Belgian solidity – as expected.

[19/2/23] Draught at Nüetnigenough in Brussels. Cloudy orange, white head. Fruity esters, yeast, some floral hops, sweetish, strong bitterness.

Pours hazed, darker blonde/amber. Medium big white head. Scent is dry, bitter - grassy hops. Bit malty. Taste is full, juicy bitterness. green, herbal, earthy, bit grassy. Lovely, as always and as expected. A great De Ranke-typical refreshing beer.

Fluffy spotty head on an unclear amber coloured body. Hoppy, fruity & light malt aroma. Medium bodied, smooth with dry back. Bubble gum, floral, Belgian yeast & big hop tastes with a long bitter finish. Excellent.

75cl Fles van Etre Gourmet. Amber kleur, dichte romige witte kraag. Moutig, grassig, hoppig, bloemig, droog, verbena en citroen, hint van jasmijn, fors bitter maar ook heel zacht en soepel. Lichte body, vol van smaak. De Ranke op z'n best.

On tap at Taverna del Porto, Padova. Hazy orange with huge white head. Fruity and spicy, herbal, peppery, nice intensive bitter finish. Medium bodied.

75cl bottle (BB: 13/10/2024) from Etre Gourmet web shop. F: huge, white, long lasting. C: deep gold with orange hue, hazy. A: very nice hoppy, floral hops, banana, bit herbal, pear, noble hops, grapefruits, bready touch, spicy T: medium malty base, grapefruits, herbal spicy, bready, nice balanced long lasting harmonic bitterness, hay, bit saison like, banana touch, medium carbonation, quite bitter but exactly in way as according to me beer should be, fully enjoyed.

Bottle (750 ml). A golden beer, notes of orange color, a head is big and blond. Aroma has flowers, fruitness, perry, some spicyness and hint of grain. Taste has fruitness, flowers, peppery spicyness, nice bitterness, which is drying the mouth, hint of earthyness, grain in the end. Medium bodied, quite high carbonation, but it's nice. Great beer, refreshning and aromatic. I love this Hop Harvest -series.
