Lexington takes inspiration from two classic drinks, the flavours of an Old Fashioned cocktail with the warming, robust nature of an English Barley Wine. Here we added heaps of natural orange zest into a freshly emptied Heaven Hill bourbon barrel for added punch & aged for six months. Expect flavours of orange zest, charred oak, vanilla & almond. An elegant but formidable beer.

Bottle split at the KristmasKracker Tasting, thanks to Dave, Watford 10/12/21. #50/240. Very lightly hazed orange amber with a good sized light beige crown that dissipates to a swirl. Nose is orange peel, caramel, stewed fruits, light herb, mellow barrel tones. Taste comprises toffee, dried fruits, orange zest, spice, bitter edge ... kind of getting the angostora message over, herb, caramel, a touch raw and woody. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a kiss of alcohol. Not bad ... gets the old fashioned message across quite well.

Bottle shared in Watford - big thanks to Dave. Pours mostly clear rich gold with a tight, creamy head. Medium to big sweet flavour, a little raw alcohol, nips of orange peel, caramel. Full bodied, oily, with fine carbonation. Warming finish, light piney bitterness, more citrus peel, orange liqueur, mellow toasted sugars. Big stuff, does approximate an old fashioned pretty well.
