Well stored bottle @ home. Black body under a small, dense brown head. Strong and lovely aroma of dark malt, vinous alcohol, coffee, dark chocolate, dry fruit and wood. Taste is super smooth, complex and really, really nice. Dark malt, chocolate, dry fruit, port, dry fruit, wood, warming alcohol, fine bitterness, red berry and a touch of honey. Perfect body with endless lasting aftertaste. So complex, so nice, so real – one of the best beers I have ever tasted for sure. One year storage has just made it even better than fresh.

On tap at the brewery. A black one, with a small dark beige head. Some curtains. The aroma is more vinous than the un-barreled version. Still rather sweetish, with a herbal hint. Dark chocolate, coffee, booze, licorice notes, some dark plums and prunes. Some bonfire hints, citrus zest and brown sugar too. It's full-bodied, warming and softly carbonated, sweet, with a light bitterness. The flavor has a vinous touch, red wine, dessert wine-ish roasted malts, brown sugar, coffee and dark chocolate as the main elements, with a herbal note, booze, grass, pine cones, plums and some dark dried fruit. More alcoholic feeling than the regular version. Everlasting finish. A bit intense this one too, but more mellow than the regular version, and sure very nice, and I'm looking forward to a cellared version later on. Fresh, it was my favorite of the three. 221015
