Not brewed to 'dry stout'-style, per se, but a stout that is dry. Light-bodied but not thin, with more prominent kettle-hopping and then dry-hopping to add some brightness and contrast to the roasty, biscuity, and savoury character of the dark malts. This version features Azacca hops.

Keg draught at the Real Ale Classroom, Leicester city centre. Dark brown and mostly opaque with a small khaki head and generous lacing. Aroma of pine, bitter dark malts, light notes of tropical fruit. Taste is pretty bitter but it isn't overdone; with light piney notes behind the heavy malt oresence. Suitably dry on the finish. Light body, medium carbonation. Exquisite.

Dry… and stouty. Roast. But not so much body to it. Nice but maybe it was too cold.

Keg at Arch 7 - Bermondsey. Pours black-brown with a foamy, mocha cap. Light-medium sweet flavour with robust ashy roast, scorched earth, burnt rubber, bitter dark chocolate. Light bodied with velvety texture and massaging carbonation. Ashy and dry in the finish, more baking cocoa, a few raisins. Lovely.

On tap at Low Key Taproom Ashford. Black beer lasting tan head. Lots of chocolate and cocoa and then a lovely layer of raisin and damson. then a velvety dark chocolate finish. one of the best Kernel dry stout and that's saying something.
