Nøgne Ø Nordic Noir 2 is built around the wonderful chocolate malt from Norsk Malt at Ringsaker. With honey and juniper from Brekkestø and Kveik from Sigmund Gjernes in Voss, we have captured the taste of real Norwegian craftsmanship from raw materials to finished brew. Stored one year in the bottle before release for a rounded, fruity sweetness.

On tap at the brewery. A black one, with a small dark beige head. Some curtains. The aroma is rather sweetish, with a herbal hint. Dark chocolate, coffee, booze, licorice notes, some dark plums and prunes. Some bonfire hints, citrus zest and brown sugar too. It's full-bodied, warming and softly carbonated, sweet, with a light bitterness. The flavor has roasted malts, brown sugar, coffee and dark chocolate as the main elements, with a herbal note, booze, grass, pine cones, plums and some dark dried fruit. Everlasting finish. A bit intense this one, but sure nice, and I'm looking forward to a cellared version later on. 221015

33cl bottle. Enjoyed at PBF XIII. Poured near black in color. Aroma of soy sauce, sweetness and umami. Chcolate and sweetness. Too heavy for me.

--Bottled at PBF XIII! -- Dark brown, small head. Aroma of chocolate and aquavit. Mid sweet with full body and rounded mouthfeel. Chocolate and caramel, coffee and aquavit. Warming mid bitter finish. Very harmonious.

Brunsvart vätska med obefintligt skumlock. Tydligt framträdande aromer av dadlar, russin, aprikos, choklad och lite tobak. Bred massiv maltbas. Ett rinnande fruktfat. Behagligt len och rejält fyllig.

The only way to rid oneself of temptations is to yield, iflg hedonisten Oscar Wilde. Tiltredes, særlig etter denne 0,33 flasken fra VP Herbarium. Brunsvart med kort bruseskum. Nydelig aroma og saliggjørende smak med mørke karamellsjokolader, honning, delikat innslag av einer i en solid maltkropp. Legger seg som fløyel rundt nervesystemet. Lykkeligvis har jeg de to andre utgavene i kjelleren, noe som naturligvis vil være en utfordring for standhaftigheten.

Bottle from Systembolaget beställningssortiment. Dark brown with a minimal tan head. Dried fruit, dark chocolate, oak, some berries, licorice and juniper. Quite powerful with warming alcohol. Feels young but tasty.
