A Cognac, Sherry, and Islay whisky BA Imperial Porter.
Taste: Sweet reds fruits pair with an iodine-like salinity, reminiscent of a a campfire on the beaches of Islay. Poached pears, winter spices, and cloves join in with a hint of berry-like acidity. Vinous tannins round out the taste, with a smooth malty sweetness to finish.
Appearance: Jet black with a dark brown head.
Nose: Rich smoked malts and vinous cognac combine with hints of plum and raspberry jam.

Black beer, thin tan head. Smells sweet and boozy, with some treacle and toasty malt. Flavour has the sweet spirits, a hint of the peatiness, syrup, toasty malt, a little sweet spice, dried fruit, a hint of dark chocolate, smoke from the peaty Scotch too. An incredible effort to balance this, and to have it be so rich and sweet but not sickly. Hearty, warming, very tasty.

21/12/2023. Bottle shared at Radio City Social, Chelmsford. Pours close to black with a small frothy beige head. Aroma is malty, roasted, chocolate, tar, treacle, liquorice, molasses, sherry, whiskey, wood, dark fruits, smoked peaty edge. Well balanced, full bodied, smooth, average to soft carbonation. Enjoyable.

330ml bottle. Pours jet black with a medium head. Aroma is fruity liquorice, dark chocolate and peat. Taste has dark chocolate, sweet sherry and a fruity smoky peaty finish.

Bottle. An almost black one, with a small beige head. Semi-oily. Smoked nose with roasted malts, dark chocolate, coffee and alcohol. Some dark dried fruit and toffee hints. It’s full-bodied, warming and softly carbonated, with a gentle bitterness. Roasted malts, coffee, dark chocolate, dark dried fruit and a smoked touch. Lasting finish. Delicious indeed this one. Opaque dark brown beer, small bubbly tan head that really doesn't hang about long. Smooth and fairly light palate, decent fine carbonation. Smooth dark malts, a little cakey dark chocolate. The triple barrelling integrates tightly and it's hard to pull them apart, at first. Smooth ripe fruits well blended with a little boozy spice and a touch of barrel induced vanilla. As the beer warms up, a smooth sherry sweetness comes to the fore followed by a fruity whiskey. A little more boozy spice on the smooth finish. Nice layered ba Impy.

Bottle. Malty aroma and taste, chocolate, light roastyness, whisky and barrel notes, light sweet, medium bitter. Full body, malty choco roasty bitter sweet finish with warming alcohol notes. Very good.
