bottiglia 50 cl, bel cappello di schiuma bianca fine persistente, colore oro pallido torbido, al naso l’affumicato è intenso speck castagne abbrustolite legno, in bocca l’affumicato è ben presente ma non invadente malto pane tostato speck caldarroste, corpo rotondo, carbonazione forte, dolce con amaro moderato, ben luppolata lieve astringente. Pours dark golden to the lightest orange, definitely clearer than most rauchs, though the "helles" description in the label might be a bit misleading. Quite good intensity in a straightforward smoked aroma: mainly ashy/woody/campfire with lighter hints of smoked meat; feels like a pretty vivid per style smokiness. Quite neutral on the malty component (pretty light on the umami/fatty component that is often more vivid in other rauchs), with just a grainy hint and perhaps a touch of grassy hops. Taste notes follow the aroma pretty closely: smoked notes as per aroma, a light grainy, slightly fragrant base, a not too common touch of freshness with a light grassy hops component. Finish feels pretty dry and quite cleansing. Overall, a simple but clean and nicely intense taste, with a stronger smoked contribution than in most german rauchs. Lightish in body, with low to medium, quite delicate carbonation; very easy to drink, even for the style, with a pleasant, delicate fizziness. Overall: a slighty uncommon rauch, less fatty/umami and more refreshing; an appreciated twist, and, anyways, the beer was well made and nicely intense.

0.5l bottle, huge thanks guys! Clear hazy yellow-golden body, off-white head. Slightly medicinal touches in the aroma, the smokiness is, moving on to some pleasant smokey, malty notes and beans. It must be some smoke phenolics somehow. Sweetish clean smokey malty taste, again with some bean notes rather than purely woody, but there was that as well. Quite okay, drinkable, well balanced anyway.

500ml bottle. Opalescent, yellow-ish, golden colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Smoky and slightly spicy, minimally bready, malty aroma, notes of smoked oak, ham, a touch of juniper, laurel. Taste is mildly smoky and spicy malty, slightly yeasty fruity and minimally leafy hoppy, minimally diluted notes of smoaked oak, pear, a touch of laurel, juniper, leaves, subtle residual sweetness. Slightly oily, watery texture, smooth and minimally dry palate, medium, mildly prickly carbonation. Well balanced, explicit but integrated smokiness, nice fruity aspects, rather easy accessible for a Rauchbier - good!

Bottle @Beershoppe (Rome). Darata carica, intensa, schiuma bianco-sporca media. Al naso note di malto, scorza di pane, affumicato (speck, scamorza). In bocca è mediamente affumicata, bilanciata splendidamente, ha anche una discreta beva. Corpo medio, carbonazione media. Ottimo prodotto, vicino agli standard delle migliori.

50cl bottle. A clear yellow golden beer with a white head. Aroma of mild sweet pale malt, some bacon. Taste of mild smoked malt, pale malt, grains.

Ulrich Martin Rauchmärzen, Flasche vom Landbierparadies24. - Dunkles Goldgelb, leicht trüb; unmäßiger Schaum. - In der Nase kräftige Raucharomen, die ohne die gewohnte Kombination mit dunklem und Röstmalz etwas verloren wirken, getreidiges Malz, Anklänge an gekochten Kohl. - Antrunk trocken rauchmalzig mit zart angebrannter Note, dahinter blasses Pilsner Malz und ein Rest von Vanillesüße. Leise hopfenwürzige (Spalter) Herbe, die gegen die satte Rauchigkeit kaum zur Geltung kommt. Gut rezent, eher vollmundig, hart im Mund. Im Abgang immer noch rauchig und rund herbal-hopfenwürzig herb. - Ein helles Rauchbier ist untypisch, und dies hier zeigt auch warum: Rauchmalz erschlägt alle hellen Malzaromen; das Ergebnis ist unrund und hart.
