0.5l bottle. This is a clear deep dark red-brown one with a good looking medium sized light beige head that sticks around for a while. On the aroma this one is sweet and malty with lots of sweet caramel. Also I get lots of concentrated dried fruits here. Mostly sweet, and I'm sure some would think this is too sweet, bit I like this aroma. The taste is not as sweet as I had thought. Really nicely balanced, it's both malty with a suiting bitterness. Dark malty, yeah, and brown-nutty. I also get hints of something beefy - almost smoky in the aftertaste. Even though it's not too impressive - either on the mouthfeel or carbonation level, this was actually a bit interesting, and probably one of the best I've had from the brewery. 13.07.2012

Hazy dark amber beer. Semi soft palate. Soft sweetish malt with light toffee and a whisper of smoke. A little marmalade fruit in the background. Finishes soft and a little dry. Well joined up.

500 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet Vika, Oslo. ABV is 7.0%. Cloudy dark amber to brown colour, moderate off-white head. Sweetish aroma of caramel malts, brown bread and Danish pastry. The flavour has also notes of caramel and brown bread, but is not too sweet. Moderate hops in the finish. A quite decent bock this one - might buy again..

Brown orange colour, thick, small and long-lasting head. Aroma is sweet and typical to bock beers with malt. Flavour is sweetish with malt, some roastiness and hints of coffee. Decent.

Bottle: Poured a clear light amber color bock with a medium foamy head with OK retention. Aroma of light caramelized malt is OK though lacking esters. Taste is a simple mix of medium caramelized malt with not much else in terms of noticeable characteristics. Body is slightly below average with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. No brewing flaws but lacking interesting fruity esters I usually associate to the style – this kind of confirm my theory that this is a very difficult style to brew.

Very large white to beige head, nice red color, spots of yeast (I think) in it. Smell rusty, musty sour and parfume. Taste sweets and something more, but I don’t know what it is. It’s nice anyway. Carbo and body also good for a beer of 7%ABV.
