Bottle. Candi sugar aroma with notes of spicy Belgian yeast, caramel, toffee, banana, clove and floral hop flavors. Pours caramel brown colored with a large tan head that has little retention and very little lacing. Starts with caramel, toffee, banana and spicy Belgian yeast flavors. Finishes smooth and a bit dry with Candi sugar, clove and floral hop flavors. Very nice dubbel.

dark mahogany colour, almost one inch of beige-ish ecru head; aroma of dried sour cherry, prune, some cocoa powder, rye bready and woody notes; taste has similar notes to the aroma with some blackberry and minimal burnt woody notes; good one

Ruby colour, good beige head. Caramel, bread, dark fruits, Belgian yeast spiceyness in the nose. Light to medium-bodied. Dark fruits, papery hops, some caramel. Simple. Not impressive.

Bottle.
A: hazy brown, small, foamy, tan head.
A: raisin, fig, prune, jam, almond.
T: sweetish fig & prune, sourish blackberry, herbal black tea, bit toasty.
F: herbal hops, dried fruits.
P: medium body, slick texture, fizzy carbonation.
Quite balanced, but in the end it remains somewhat empty.

Very huge, dense, irregular foxy cream coloured head over reddish, deep brown beer; lots of lace. Sweet nose with brown sugar over-obvious, herbs, wood, chocolate, hops. Bitterish coffee, chicory, with sweet & roasted malts underneath. Hint of sulphur, and melanoidins, of course. Malt- and sugarsweetness starts to build up, certainly after some warming up, but the coffee-ish & leafy bitterness remains on top. At least medium bodied, not feeling thick, but bit creamy feel from the head. Medium to well-carbonated in the end. Classic (if more Walloon than Flemish character), but quite well executed, feared worse. Maar die Ieperse grapjassen mogen mij eens komen uitleggen hoe ze er mee wegkomen een label te gebruiken zonder ook maar één aanduiding van ABV. Volledig illegaal in de EU!

Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Lots of dried fruit in the aroma, with brown malt, yeast, raisins, prunes. Flavour is lightly sourish with a moderate sweetness. Medium body. I'm not sold on this one.
