"Klosterbier Dunkel", 5,5 %, vom Faß in der Klosterschenke Scheyern. Das Original aus der 2006 wiederbelebten Klosterbrauerei, nicht das Industriebier aus dem Braukonzern Tucher. - Kupferrotbraun, klar. - Im Geschmack elegantes Münchner Malz, schöne (Malz)kaffee-Röstaromen, zarte Schokolade. Dezente, hintergründig orangenfruchtige und fein herbale Hopfung. Feine aber intensive Nougatsüße, Anklänge an Waldhonig. Zarte Frucht, Waldbeerenkonfitüre. Milder rezent, vollmundig, glatt und tief. Im Abgang leise malzbitter und fein hopfenherb. - Sehr gediegenes Dunkles, vielschichtig und von kerniger Eleganz. (28.3.2025.)

Tap at Klosterhof Bayrischzell clear dark brown, tanned cream. Light roast, earthy, bready sweet, ok grassy hop counter, roast and a hint gooseberry in the finish.

Klar bernsteinfarben mit weißer Schaumkrone. Malziger, röstmalziger Geruch. Geschmacklich malzig, röstmalzig, etwas Toffee. Mittlere Süße mit leichter Bitterkeit, mittlerer Körper mit spürbarer Kohlensäure.

Bottled (from web-bier.de). Reddish amber colour with a small beigeish brown head. Aroma is floral, ripe fruits, some toffee and roasted notes. Flavour is roasted, some herbal, grassy, earthy and mild nutty tones. Somewhat watery palate.

ABV: 5.0%. Clear medium to dark brown amber colour with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to light beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, sweet malt, caramelized malt, malty, light nutty. Flavor is moderate sweet and light moderate bitter with a long duration, caramelized malt, caramel, sweet malt, light nutty, medium dry. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20220417]

Bottled 500ml (AIH128)
Dark ruby colour, small beige head. Caramalt, light breadyness and even berries in the nose. Light-bodied. Caramalt, light rye bread in the flavour. Watery and boring.

500ml bottle; BB 21st Oct 2020. Drank at home on 30th Aug 2020. Lovely deep amber colour, clean and clear, fast fading beige head. Good depth of flavour and body for a Dunkel, malty and semi-sweet. In a blind tasting I would have said it was an Alt as it wasn't watery or bland like some in this style often are.

Bottle. dark brown color. Maltaroma with caramel, and chocolate. Full bodied. malty bready flavor with caramel and milk chocolate. Sweetish, pleasant. Just enough hops. Nice one!
