Buying it in the sterk, Amsterdam, during one of my trips. Bottled in 2017, opening this bottle yesterday, solid and classical imperial stout, roasty malt, cocoa, chocolate, touch of vanilla, coffee, full body, a bit boozy, bitter, some dryness.

Bottle from Lekkerbier, Sint Nicolaasga. Aroma is chocolate, barrel, roast, whiskey, some alcohol, some red and dark fruity notes. Mild bittersweet flavour, body could be a bit more full. Still, pretty nice BA.

I Draught /I Dense, good and layered white to yellow-cream head over virtually black beer. Roasted, burnt, chocolate, but also a tad soapy. Molasses syrup. Very roasted, sweet-bitterish, dry roast, breadcrust. Sweet is enhanced by the alcohol, but it has no boozy character whatsoever, whisky is hard or not traceable at all. Bit almondy. Well-bodied, almost no alcoholwarming, slick to viscous feel. Maybe a tad too restrained.

Thanks! Sampled draft @ Billie’s Beer Festival 2018. Day 2. Black, little mocha head. Nose is boozy, bit hot varnish but also nice mocha, chocolate, mocha, candy. Taste is mocha, sugar, less booze, bit crude but tasty thick vanilla barrel, very solid, chocolate, molasses. Thick, big sugar. Very solid & tasty.
