We brewed this beer with our friends at Bottle Logic in the summer of 2019, and our intent was to create a sumptuous tapestry of luxurious flavors so decadent that we could declare with a straight face that this was our finest stout, stuffed with our second finest stout. Truly, a dish even Moe Szyslak would be proud of. This is a 12-month bourbon barrel–aged imperial stout with ridiculous amounts of toasted coconut, vanilla beans, and caramelized cocoa nibs.

Draught @ Monk's Pub, Chicago (Feb 2025). Inky black with a very small frothy tan head that's basically just a ring, cocoa-vanilla aroma, low carbonation, initially sweet cocoa-rum-vanilla taste that turns medium bitter, very smooth body, long mocha finish. Delicious.

12oz can pours a thick, leggy black with a cap of beige head that faded fast. Nose as chocolate syrup and malt and licorice, booze, vanilla. The coconut is mercifully tame. Flavors malt and heavy cocoa and cherry and port. Some marshmallow lurking. Full bodied and sweet finish.

Draft. Black beer with a tan head. Bourbon and chocolate aroma. Bourbon and chocolate flavor with caramel and light vanilla. Medium bodied. Bourbon and chocolate linger with caramel, light vanilla, and light coconut.

12 ounce can from Tavour. Jet black pour has no head. Big, sweet roasted malt aroma hints at really good chocolate, Tahitian vanilla beans and freshly harvested Hawaiian coconut flesh. Flavor follows nose. Interestingly, there is not a hint of lobster or any form of tacos? What I do know is this is a seriously intense brew that brings a ton of flavor right from the first sip. Thick, rich and sticky on the palate. Though it’s aged in bourbon barrels, their essence is present, but not in the forefront. Like most beers of this style, the layers of flavor begin to emerge as the brew warms. Sip this one slowly, as the many nuances are there, if you are patient…

Can from 8 Degrees Plato. Pours a pitch black with a finger of brown head that lingers. Lots going on in the nose...bourbon, vanilla, marshmallow, cacao nibs and caramel. Thick and viscous on the palate with more of the same flavors present. Warming bourbon on the finish. Sweet but not completely unbalanced. Great stuff.

12oz can from tavour. Pours opaque black, medium brown head, good lacing. Aroma is decadent, coconut, fudge, vanilla, bourbon. Flavor is medium plus sweet, light plus bitter, huge flavor bomb, lots of toasted coconut. Full body, creamy. Excellent beer, fantabulous deal. So glad i bought four.

On tap at the brewery. Pours an oily black with a dark brown head that dissipates quickly and nearly completely. Aroma has a nice combination of toasted coconut, dark grains and bitter chocolate with some bourbon and vanilla supporting. Flavor really lets the toasted coconut shine with dark grains, bitter chocolate and light bourbon in the finish.
