Flip top bottle 330ml (BZ, BB 03/2012)
Clear golden color, small white head. Lightly grassy and diacetylic aroma, sweet malty. Light body. Buttery but not diacetylic, maloty flavor, light hayish hoppyness. Empty finish. Simple and boring, I’ve had much better beers from this brewery. And I can’t understand previous ratings for this beer.

33cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. As Levi Buttenheimer Urstoff. Clear golden colour, white head. Aroma of pale malts, flowers, sweet bread, a bit fruity. Flavour is sweet, malty, light bread like, flowery, light hoppy finish. Light bodied, oily mouthfeel. A bit on the sweet side, but OK.

bottle, delivered by MoritzF! Hazy golden colour with a large white head. Aromatic flowery nose. Meidum-bodied, pleasant malty background with hints of flowers and spices, slightly dusty. A very interesting and rather unusual beer.

Bottle. Hazy golden, off-white head. Grainy, light grassy aroma. Herbal entry (really herbal - sage and thyme), dry grassy on hayish malt, slightly agressive. Chewy body, fine parkly. Grassy dry aftertaste.

Ceramic mug. Thick head. Nice fruity (apricot, peach) hop aroma. The palate is quite toasty and a little bit light-bodied. Fairly bitter, with toasty notes but overall this is too thin and a rare miss for the St. George brewery.

(33cl swing top bottle) Clear, bright golden and effervescent hue with a big and slowly lacing foamy white head. Moderately sweet and slightly biscuity malty aroma with a good dash of the typical and very aromatic St. Georgen hop profile. Bitter flavour, light bodied but definitely not watery texture with a smooth and well-matured mouthfeel. Well balanced soft malty base and herbal and slightly citrousy hoppy taste; dry and hoppy finish with a moderate length. A superb Helles from Franconia (25.VI.09).

Bügelverschlußflasche (333ml): Clear golden, smaller stable creamy head; noble hops and pale malt in the aroma, completed by a tinge of vanilla; very soft and creamy MF, moderate sweet-bitter flavour, light bodied; soft but lingering aroamtic hoppy - almost piney - finish, balanced by traces of sweet malt. Pleasantly drinkable stuff from Buttenheim..............
