Very good. Heavily roasted grain in the aroma, along with charred wood and vanilla. Flavor of scotch, but also smoke with the charred wood. Very thick and heavy. Alcohol is noticeable. A thick and heavy beer, full of flavor. Excellent. Unlike bourbon, the scotch works well in imperial stouts. Thanks to Skyview for sharing.

500 ml bottle. Pitch black with a big, creamy, brown head. Aroma of dark, roasted malt, coffee and smooth peated whisky. Flavor is sweet, roasted malt, oak, peat, coffee, chocolate, some vanilla, hops and a fine smooth and warming whisky flavor. This is very balanced, quite strong flavor, but not particular sweet, bitter or roasted, just a damn fine perfectly balanced and smooth beer with a nice, warming alcohol finish. Love it.

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a huge very dark brown head. The aroma has strong notes of whiskey, roasted malt, and wood. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of roasted malt, whisky, smoke, alcohol, and caramel, leading to a dry roasted, whiskey finish.

Black with a long lasting tan head. Roasted aroma with licorice and chocolate. Mild hops and a hint of whisky too. Sweet dark chocolate flavour, roasted malt, coffee. Complex and in great balance. The hops are more mellow than in the regular imperial stout, and I’m not sure I like that.
