On tap at Håndverkerstuene. A hazy, orange to dark golden beer with a big, creamy, beige head. Some berries-like sourish notes in the aroma, with caramel and hints of lemon blending in. Berries, a sourish touch and some caramel in the mouth, full bodied and nicely carbonated. Berries in the finish. The crowberries stand out in a really nice way in this tasteful beer, making it a pleasant beer to drink. 100820

On tap at Churchill’s. Pours with a vibrant red body that is lightly hazy, and a white head. Aromas of cranberry, ham, and not much else. A light sweetness. Flavors are watery, tobacco, earthy and woody, with sour berries, sage. Extremely odd. Lively bubbles. Dry.

500 ml bottle. Hazy beautiful red body with a big, creamy tan head. Funky aroma of barnyard, yeast and fruit. Flavor is a bit undefined fruity with some kind of moldy feeling, but not in a negative way (cosy cellar). This has a bit strange and fruity/berry flavor, almost bret, but not quite there with a moderate bitterness. I like it.

Gave fra Rune. Mahognyfarget. Høyt luftig skum som roet seg fort. Frukt & bær i aromaen. Smaken litt vassen men spor av frukt. Veldig tørr ettersmak. Sedimenter. Annerledes øl – men krekling (krøkebær) er bedre i saft!

330ml draught at Håndverkerstuene in pleasant company with Andreas and larsga. Hazy, red-orange coloured body. Filmy, beige head. Tart berries to the nose. Smooth and subdued acidic flavour with a few discreet hints of yeast. Bittersweet berries to the ending. A real palate cleanser after two heavily hopped ales (Oslo, 31.08.2010).

Bottled, thanks Rune! Hazy copper colour, minimal head. Tart nose with some blueberry-like nots. Dry with some weastiness and lactic acid. Lightly caramelly malt together with slight alcohol warmth balances the berryish tartness. Low bitterness.

Small beige head doesn’t last. Hazy opaque red body. Vinegary crowberry aroma with chemical chocolate notes. Dry-sweet wooden fruity crowberry taste with acidic tinge and vinegary dusty notes. Thinnish body. Sharpish mouthfeel. Dry crowberry and chemicals aftertaste with wild berry notes. Rather like several lingonberry beers I’ve tried, actually. Nice. (0.5l bottle at Haandverkerstuene, Oslo. Bottled 2010-04-15.)

500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 7.0%. Reddish brown beer, big to moderate off-white head with a reddish hue. The aroma is yeasty and somehat alcoholic, with distinct and unusual notes of crowberries. The beer is fairly light bodied and refreshing for its strength. The crowberries come through nicely in the flavour, but the beer is neither very sweet nor very sour. Very moderately hopped, obviously with the intention of letting the crowberries stand out more, but I’d still like some more hoppy bitterness in the finish.
