1 litre bottle. Pours a clear dark yellow with a thin white head. Aroma is apples, butter, yeast. Taste is the same, light to medium sweet. Light to medium bodied. You can just about drink it, but it doesn’t give you any pleasure. Basically at this point I gave up on Tajik beer and didn’t bother picking up the remaining three brewery ticks available in Khujand.

Plastic bottle --whahaha lovely-- shared by TdRoeck, thanks Tim! Clear pale yellow to lightly golden color, no head. Aroma is malty, sweetish malty and grainy. Flavor is watery malty, lghtly sweet and sweetish grainy. Well, as expected. Poor beer, but a nice country tick.

Pale lager from Tajikistan, allegedly the cheapest country in the world to drink local beer; from a plastic bottle with screw cap, shared by tderoeck. Only 'lighty pasteurized' according to what I could decipher from the label... Moussy, off-white, thin and breaking head, misty (!) apricot-tinged old golden robe, a bit darker and certainly unusual looking for a pale lager. Aroma of margarine, butterscotch even, old stale cake dough, homemade pear juice, rubber, bread crumbs vaguely in the background. Sweetish taste of cooked cereals, even unfermented sugars; softish carb, thinnish mouthfeel. Thin bready underbuilt, cereally, monotonous and bland but with some extra breadiness in the finish and even the faintest touch of grassy hops, but no real bitterness. Actually not too bad seen its context and the fact that it travelled all the way to Belgium in a PET bottle, but definitely different from other Central Asian pale lagers in being sweeter and yeastier (it being unfiltered is definitely odd for this style).

Clear orange beer, small to no head. Aroma: very malty, grains, hay, cow fodder, some diacetyl. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: malty start, grains, lots of cow fodder, hay, gentle bitterness, some diacetyl, a little sweet, ok-ish. Aftertaste: malty, some diacetyl, sourish finish.
