Big thanks to yespr for this beer! Small bottle, looks really good. Deep black, almost oily in the glass. Tastes strong, scratchy-malty, but not too much. Oily, prickly finish, a bit woody, notes of liquorice. A beer to enjoy!

Bottle 0,25l. Thanks to Rune (and fonefan). Black as coal. A small mocca colored head. Aroma of coffee and liquorice. More liquorice in the flavor. Some bitterness. A bit one dimensional.

Big thanks to fonefan for a 250ml bottle of this great beer. The body is black as pitch with a brownish ring around the rim of the glass. Smell of smoked, dark malts with some vanilla sweetness coming through. Taste of dark chocolate combined with espresso-like coffee. Lingering, chocolate aftertaste with a good amount of bitterness. Dusty and dry in the mouth. Delicious beer, but perhaps a little unvaried (shared with Finn in TromsΓΈ, 13.10.2008).

Tasting with Casey, Traci, Craig, Stella and Loz 27-09-08 this bottle brought along by Fin The hops and coffee dominate the aroma on this one, beer is fabulously pitch black. Quite thick tarry, oily mouthfeel, but I find this a bit claggy in the mouth bitterness is very prominent and whilst not really my thing, am glad to have tried it.

Bottled(250ml). -Courtesy of Papsoe, shared with Doggythedog (thanks to both of them for giving and sharing).
Deep black coloured, small brown head, roasted malty chocolate nose with touch of orange. Strong roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee and hoppy taste with smokey notes. Dangerously drinkable for 10%. Light fruity hoppy bitterness in the finish.

25cl bottle. Pours pitch black with a small creamy brown head & lacings. Nose is lovely - vinous, sweet, roasted, coffee, hops & licorice. Velvetly smooth & soft mouthfeel. Oily & sticky. Low carbonation. Lasting bitterness from hops & roast in the end. Nice!

Bottle. Enormous thanks to Papsoe for giving this to me at the RBESG08. Shared with ogivlado. Poured a black body witha small brown head. Strong malty nose with notes of orange, jaffa cakes, chocolate and coffee. Aromatic hops (lime seems to be the agrume here) perching in front off a roasty maltiness in form of dark chocolate. Coffee again. A superb mix of flavours... The body is just right, not too heavy, not too light. Strong bitter hoppy aftertaste. Damn... one of the best 3 imperial stouts I’ve ever had turns up to be from Mikkeller whose other IS’s I didn’t like much (never head the BG Breakfast, mind you), and it was the one that grew on me the fastest. This was one successful experiment.

Bottle 25cl @ home. Clear dark black color with a average to large, creamy - frothy, excellent lacing, fully lasting, light brown head. Aroma is heavy malty, roasted, strong coffee, dusty, moderate alcohol. Flavor is heavy sweet and heavy to harsh bitter with a long long long duration. Body is medium to full, texture is syrupy - oily, carbonation is soft. (220708)

Pitch black with a lasting, light brown head. Roasted malt dominates the aroma, with coffee and licorice, and some dried fruits. Flavour is intense, roasted malt and charcoal notes, some hop bitterness and a hint of coffee.
