Our holiday ale. This I.D.A., India Dark Ale, is crisp, bitter and overflowing with the aroma of spruce. Perfect for the holidays.

Draft at prohibition pig. Very clean looking beer. hearty head, pitch black. nose was pine cones, walnuts and very dry roasted notes. Taste was a pine cone / resin bomb. It was good but not one I’d revisit.

Keg at the Three Penny Taproom - Montpelier, VT. Pours black-brown with a moderate, frothy tan head. Heavy roasted malts on the nose with rich baking cocoa and suggestions of grapefruit. Light to medium sweet flavor with rich, overriding baking cocoa, dry char, burnt marshmallow, minerals, orange rind. Medium bodidd with fine carbonation. Fairly dry to finish, lots more char and bittersweet baking cocoa, background grapefruit, burnt grass, some resinous, lightly torched pine. Really solid. Great depth. It grows on you.

Deep ruby brown ale, no head. Pleasant hoppy and floral aroma, pungeant, sweet and vinous. Nutty IPA like porter with a good malt base, and very floral hops. Rich and lightly harsh body. Dec. 2004.
