(Draught at Walhalla Taproom, Amsterdam, 18 Feb 2023) Black colour with creamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of coffee, dark chocolate, liquorice, black bread and a touch of mint. Malty, roasted, hoppy taste with coffee, dark chocolate, grapefruit, pine needles, mint and a generous citric/piney bitterness in the finish. Almost full body, quite dry. Solid and well made black IPA. Very nice.

0.44 l can from 'Rebelbeercans', canned in December 2022. Black with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, gently roasty, fairly fruity aroma of tropical fruits, some blueberry, dark chocolate and some coffee. Quite sweet, malty, fairly roasty, rather fruity taste of dark chocolate, hard roasted coffee, tropical fruits, licorice and some blueberry, followed by a medium long, rather roasty-bitter finish. Medium to full body, smooth and slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Great collab from two of my favourite brewers, really well-executed Double BIPA.

Good in style. More on the creamy side than the sharp american roast-hop balance. But still has a good dose of the classic style. I enjoy it. Bierkonig ams

Can. Dark brown. Very earthy, cocoa, toffee, ash, lime zest, grassy, brown sugar. Medium sweet and solid bitter. Medium bodied. Nice but feels a bit light for a double black IPA.

440ml can. Jet black colour with minimally late awakening, average to huge, frothy to creamyx, slowly osteoporosing, minimally lacing, beige to tan head. Roasty, almost a bit ashy-smoky, dark malty and piney, resinous, earthy and slightly citrusy and minimally grassy, hoppy aroma, notes of liquorice, pine, grapefruit, ashy overtones. Taste is bitter, roasty malty and bitter, resinous, piney and slightly citrusy fruity hoppy, notes of liquorice, some grapefruit, ashy overtones, a touch of tarmac. Oily texture, dry palate, medium, mildly prickly carbonation. Fairly bitter, subtle dirtiness - very good.
