Bottle 330ml. @ Brouwerij Troost - de Pijp, Cornelis Troostplein 21, Amsterdam, Netherlands 1072 JJ. [ As Troost Barleywine ].Dark brown - red amber color with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, light beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, dark malt, sweet malt, bread, dried fruit, raisin, plum, alcohol. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet with a long duration, dried fruit, plum - raisin, dark malt, sweet malt, bread. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic. [20160904] 7-4-7-3-14

Bottle sample at a tasting at Lior D’s place. Thanks Tom L. Murky deep amber-brown with a beige head. Aroma of malt, caramel, biscuits, stale hops. Sweet flavor with malt, caramel, a bit of toffee, bitter stale hops, a bit of alcohol. Medium-bodied.

Almost opaque brown beer, tidy brown head. Palate is ariy and dry, good fine carbonation. Rich but thin malts. Decent toffee and a touch of malt cream. Mild fruity bitterness. Some darker toffee. Pleasant enough but seems a little immature and lacking complexity.

Amsterdam Pubcrawl 2016, @Troost, van tap. bruin met kaki kraag. aroma is zoet, caramel, gebrande en geroosterde mout, alcohol, donker fruit. Smaken zijn redelijk tot stevig zoet, caramel, granig, alcohol, donker fruit, redelijke body, donker fruit, stevig.

33cl Bottle at Troos De Pijp. Amber-brown colour, beige head. Aroma of candy, candied fruits, alcohol, raisins, brown sugar. Flavour is sweet, malty, candy, candied fruits, some dark fruits, raisins, bittersweet alcoholic finish. Medium bodied at best.

Sampled at Troost, De Pijp. Opaque brown color, average sized off-white to beige head. Smell and taste malts, caramel, alcohol, sweetish, dark fruits. Quite heavy but not too bad.

Bottle at Troost. Very dark brown with dark beige head. Light cocoa, bitter grass and alcohol, raisins, toffee, lots of sweet malts and brown sugar. Medium sweet and bitter. Full bodied with decent carbonation.

Bottle at Troost, shared. Dark amber, greyish head. Sweet toasted barley malts, big toffee, caramel, resiny, tuttifrutti fruitiness, leathery bitterness. Big sweet, medium bitter. Near full body, oily slick texture, soft carbonation. Very nice.

Bottle shared. Hazy brown with a short lived tan head. Aroma of malt, caramel, some overripe dark fruit, toffee and raisins. Flavour is light heavy sweet and moderate bitter. Full bodied with soft carbonation.
