Cask @ EBF 2008. Chocolate and raisin in the aroma. Thin, roasty, even a bit smoky flavor. Apple syrup in the aftertaste.

Cask at the 2012 Pigs Ear Beer Festival, East London. Strangely a reddish pour with a white head. Toffee and caramel aroma. Caramel flavours. Sweet. Very unimpressive.

Chocolatey, a bit thin, but nice chocolately brew. A touch sour. Not superbly rounded.

50cl bottle @ Bull and Castle, Dublin. Brune claire, col blanc.

Reddish-brown. Nitro. The aroma is quite chocolatey. The palate has more of that chocolate with hints of electrical burning in the back. Mostly a thinnish chocolate stout, but not kept well on either occasion it was tasted, including once at the brewpub in Lisburn.

Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol 11/04/10. Near black with a decent, off-white head. Plenty of black coffee aroma and flavour, with a hint of caramel, dark fruit. Finish was dry, No sign of the chocolate, but pleasant nonetheless.

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol. Dark Mahogany with a decent tan head. Lots of roasted malt in the aroma with some dark fruit. Flavour had plenty of roasted malt and dark chocolate, with a dry, ashy finish. Good.
