Bottle. Dark brown color. Molasses and apple syrup in the aroma. Sweet, sugary flavor with molasses, tobacco and apple. Thin. Smells and tastes like home brew packet yeast. Very amateuristic brew. 2009 version, 8%. Dark brown color. Malt, just a hint fo smoke and cherry confit in the aroma. Caramel in the slightly acidic flavor, with plums and dried fruit. Smoke, cinnamon and coreander. One again makes an amateuristic impression. Is it just the yeast, or is this beer slightly infected?

Deep red - brown beer, almost clear. Residual off white head. Mild honey nose. Creamy malt with a modest dollop of rich honey. Touch of tangy orange marmalade. Creamy malt semi dry finish. Not bad at all!

30cl Bottle from a gift pack, Monnikbier 2009, ABV 8.5% if I recall correctly. Clear deep reddish brown colour, creamy beige head. Sour and oxidized aroma, papery cinnamon, sour fruits, red wine. Flavour is light malty, sour, dry, some dark fruits. Medium bodied, lively carbonation. Heavily infected, I found this to be undrinkable.

Bottle, 8%. Gusher. Good distinct Brett aroma, a bit of sour rag. Clear dark brown colour. Big stable rocky tan head. The flavour is quite citric, lemony flavours, some Brett. Drinkable, but quite odd.

Bottle 33cl.Clear medium brown color with a large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, dark berry notes, moderate yeasty, brett. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and roasted, caramel, brett bitter with a long to average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. Clearly a infected beer - but somehow it manage to come out quite succesful ! [20091003]

Dark red brown with a lively off-white head. Aroma of brown sugar, chocolate and dried fruits, with strong delicious brett. Dry and slightly tart flavour with strong brett and a little chocolate. Based on the other ratings it’s not infected on purpose, but the result is quite nice.

Bottle 30 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Pours a clear orangey brown with a beige head. Very lively - a slow gusher. Leathery Brett aroma. Medium body, notes of black currant and dried fruit. Astringent and leathery Brett accents. Clearly another infected Koelschip beer - but somehow they manage to come out quite succesful with their infections! 031009
