Scherdel Schwarzes, 5,3 %, Flasche von Getränke Hoffmann, Hof. - Dunkles Schwarzbraun, klar. - In der Nase leicht blasses dunkles Malz mit leichten Röstaromen, Cola, Anklänge an Seifenwasser. - Antrunk füllig dunkelmalzig mit satteren doch aromatisch vagen Röstaromen, mehr Cola als Mokka. Milde, zart karamellige Süße, ein Hauch von Zitrone, dezente hopfenwürzige Herbe. Milder rezent, vollmundig. Im Abgang gut malzbitter und mild krautig hopfenherb; zart metallisch. - Riecht wenig überzeugend, schmeckt dann aber doch ganz ordentlich. Vom Malzkörper her ein Dunkles, ist es so röstmalzbetont wie ein echtes Schwarzbier, nur fehlt die Eleganz eines solchen; es bleibt ein deutlicher Industriebiercharakter. - Ich hatte die Gelegenheit, diese Flasche mit einer gleichzeitig gekauften aber zweieinhalb Monate früher abgefüllten zu vergleichen. Der Verlust an feineren Aromen war deutlich. Es lohnt sich also auch bei Industriebieren, nach frischeren Flaschen zu suchen (die im Getränkemarkt oft weiter hinten oder unten stehen). (17.6.2022.)

0.5 bottle. Traditional label and bottle. Classic schwarzbier look, the foam is also a nice cream color. Aroma: not so much caramel, more like a quality German helle, but there are also roasted notes. It is medium-bodied, opens with a coffee spoon with real brown beer notes. Bitter finish. There are also fruity side flavors. Earthy dry feeling and thankfully not wet. Good little schwarz. Recommended.

Hagyományőrző címke és üveg. Klasszikus schwarzbier kinézet, a hab is szép krém színű. Aroma: nem annyira karamelles, inkább egy minőségi német helles-hez hasonló, de azért pörkölt jegyek is vannak. Közepesen testes, kávéskanál nyit, igazi barnasörös jegyekkel. Keserű lecsengés. Vannak gyümölcsös mellék-ízek is. Földes száraz érzet, és szerencsére nem vizes. Jó kis schwarz. Ajánlott.

Bottle. Deep dark brown color. Pear and some roast in the aroma. Pear and some roasty bitterness in the flavor. Just a bit thin, but decently balanced. Hint of yoghurt in the aftertaste.

Rating from 2005. Röstmalzig-erdiges Bier. Recht herb, allerdings fehlt die Schwarzbier-typische Lakritzigkeit. --> 10

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein sehr dunkelbraunes Bier mit schöner Schaumkrone. Geruch röstmalzig, erdig, leicht süß, schokoladig. Geschmack röstmalzig süß, trocken, leicht schokoladig.

0,5 l bottle, nice old school label art. Listed now with 5.3% alcohol. Nearly black in the glass, light tanned head. Dark malty on the nose. A lot of dark malt at the start. Later additional hints of plums and nuts, light alcoholic taste. Not really a soft Schwarzes, more a tougher thing. Thanks to kappldav123 for that bottle.

Smells sweet malty, a minimally roasted note comes through. Starts malty sweet, subtly roasty. Pleasantly bitter coffee-like aftertaste.

On tap at Kolbászda Bajor Étterem, Budapest. Dark brown coloured, medium sized beige head, chicory nose. Roasted malt, dry coffee and mild chicory taste with light herbal hoppy notes. Light roasty finish. Truly pleasant and unexpected surprise.

Draught at Kolbászda Bajor Étterem. Poured a very dark red-black body with an off white head. Nice, sweet malty nose, some chicory too. Fine, tangy roasty bitterish taste, very light herbal hopiness. A very good, very drinkable dunkel, quite above the level of the other beers of the range.
